TDC Freephone Transit

TDC offers its wholesale customers with wide selection of freephone numbers in the Nordic region and many other countries. TDC Freephone Transit is based on TDC's high expertise in intelligent network (IN) routing.

TDC Freephone Transit consists of the following elements:

• allocation of a freephone number in a specified country
• gathering the calls to the freephone number from the originating networks
• routing the calls to a termination point requested by the customer.

Freephone numbers are available from the following countries:

• Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark)
• Estonia
• Latvia
• other countries upon request

The calls are carried through TDC's own network allowing a centralized quality monitoring and statistics generation. The calls can be terminated either via dedicated interconnection circuits to a switch of the wholesale customer or to a PSTN number in a particular country.

Calling to a freephone number is usually free of charge for the caller. Freephone numbers are widely used for helpdesk purposes. By using TDC Freephone Transit carriers and resellers can offer freephone numbers to their customers with ease of delivery, maintenance and administration. TDC takes care of ordering, establishment and maintenance of the freephone numbers.
